Hot Stone Therapy
Hot Stone Therapy was introduced from the southwest region of the U.S. by massage therapists who interpreted native forms of healing with stones, thermotherapy principles and massage. The combination of traditional massage techniques using the hot stones, amplifies the flow of relaxation through the body, mind and spirit and the deep penetrating heat prepares the body for deeper work. Since every therapist’s educational background varies, so too will the development of his or her stone massage technique. Each therapist may have a unique focus depending upon the needs of the client. Sessions may vary from Swedish style for releasing tension, to deeper more therapeutic massages. Some of the stones will be placed on/under the client for added warmth during the session to help release tension and tight muscles.Raindrop Therapy Originated by Dr. Gary Young and a Lakota medicine man, Raindrop Therapy helps bring the body into both structural and electrical alignment. This technique utilizes the effectiveness of pure essential oils to reach deep into the recesses of the brain, to open hidden channels within the mind and body.
Raindrop Therapy is designed to synergize the powerful effects of therapeutic Grade-A essential oils, with the profound effects of bio-magnetic energy. It combines the science of aromatherapy with the techniques of Vita Flex, reflexology, massage, etc., in the application of essential oils, which are applied on various areas of the body to bring structural and electrical alignment. It is designed to bring balance to the body with its relaxing, mild application. It will also help to align and clear the energy centers of the body without using force or excessive pressure. When you combine the electrical frequency and the intelligence of the body and the oil, a greater healing process begins. Biofeedback techniques prove the effect of this energy, and also the effect of emotion, on health and well being.
The Raindrop Technique was developed by Dr. Gary Young, N.D, one of North America's leading experts on the art and science of aromatherapy. This technique involves dropping oils directly onto the spine from about six inches above the body.
The oils are then worked into the spine using light strokes with the fingers, which stimulates energy impulses, and disperse the oils along the nervous system throughout the entire body. In this way, the body can be brought into balance and the energy centers can be cleared and re-a1igned. It may also help to reduce spinal inflammation as well as help to maintain spinal alignment. Although a session lasts for about 45 minutes to an hour, the oils will continue to work in the body for a week or more following the treatment.
